According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, a Chinese citizen by the name of Fan was kidnapped in Pakistan in August 2018, after which he was killed in Afghanistan by terrorists from ISIS. The ministry representative, Zhao Lijian, noted that the Chinese government condemns similar terrorist acts and expresses condolences to the family of the deceased.
The ministry underscored the necessity of uniting efforts within the international community for effective counter-terrorism. It also called for enhancing international cooperation and coordinated actions to prevent and combat extremism and terrorism.
