China Raises Maximum Gasoline and Diesel Prices

The Chinese government has decided to increase the maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel. This is done to control the prices of refined oil and mitigate the impact of rising global oil prices on the domestic market.


China Raises Maximum Gasoline and Diesel Prices

On March 23, China raised the maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel by 1,160 yuan and 1,115 yuan per ton, respectively. The National Development and Reform Commission stated in a statement that the government continues to implement measures to control the prices of refined oil to mitigate the impact of rising global oil prices on the domestic market. The Chinese government body in charge of planning announced that the country will increase the maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel by 420 yuan ($61.11) and 400 yuan ($58.20) per ton, respectively, starting from Tuesday evening.
