China unveiled yesterday an ambitious project to build over 10,000 kilometers of emission-free transport corridors as part of its 15th five-year plan, which runs until 2030. Bloomberg News reported, citing the National Development and Reform Commission. The agency quoted commission official Yuan Da as saying that this initiative is part of a broader government strategy aimed at accelerating the decarbonization of the industrial sector. Green or carbon-free transport corridors refer to roads designated for cargo transportation that rely entirely on clean energy sources, ensuring zero or minimal carbon emissions.
