The Chinese side expressed its concern regarding the EU's steps towards bilateral agreements with electric vehicle manufacturers that exist outside the framework of existing trade agreements. They argue that this may disrupt the global trade system and create inequality among market participants.
In Beijing, it is believed that the EU's actions could provoke instability in the global automotive market and lead to a decrease in competitiveness for Chinese companies. Therefore, China calls for dialogue and interaction within the framework of existing international trade norms.
"We hope that the European Union will adhere to the universally recognized principles of free and fair trade, which foster the development and prosperity of the world economy," said a representative from the Ministry of Commerce of China.
