Beijing, Reuters - China said on Thursday it opposes 'political manipulation' regarding reports that Chinese hackers targeted U.S. Congressional committee staff via an email hack. At a regular press conference, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, in response to a question about the cyberattack, stated: 'We have always opposed and fought against the activities of internet hackers, and we even more strongly oppose the dissemination of false information about China for political purposes.' On Wednesday, the Financial Times reported, citing informed sources, that a Chinese hacking group had managed to target email accounts used by staff of Congressional committees.
