Chinese President Xi Jinping told his guest, Uruguayan President Yamando Orsi, yesterday that the two countries must «work together to move towards an orderly and just multipolar world, and an inclusive economic globalization beneficial to all». A media report quoted Xi as saying that China supports Latin American and Caribbean countries in safeguarding their sovereignty, security, and developmental interests, to help ease the international situation. Orsi's visit is the first by a leader from South America to the Chinese capital since the United States arrested Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro last January.
