China urged the United States to have a clear understanding of the highly sensitive nature of the Taiwan issue and to implement the commitments made by its leaders, amid tensions fueled by recent statements from the Taiwanese authority. The spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Jian, made the statements during a daily press conference. "China firmly opposes this," he emphasized. According to Lin, the words and actions of Lai Ching-te expose his nature as a separatist advocating for independence and his plan to "seek independence with the support of the United States," which confirms him as a "peace destroyer" and a "troublemaker." The spokesperson concluded with a warning: "Everything Lai says or does is a futile attempt doomed to failure."
