China Urges G7 to Stop Interference and Manipulation

China once again urges the G7 to clearly understand global trends. Abandon the Cold War mentality and ideological biases, stop manipulating issues related to China, cease interference in its internal affairs, and contribute more to solidarity and cooperation within the international community, stated a spokesperson.

Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, urged the G7 to stop manipulating issues related to China and interfering in its internal affairs. Lin made the remarks at a regular press conference when asked to comment on a joint statement from the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting, in which they expressed persistent concerns about China's alleged military build-up and the rapid increase in its nuclear arsenal.

Emphasizing that the joint statement represents another distortion of facts, a deliberate defamation of China, and a blatant interference in China's internal affairs, Lin stated that China deplores and opposes it.

The Taiwan issue is purely China's internal affair, he expressed, and affirmed that its resolution is solely up to the Chinese people, who will not tolerate any external interference.

The situation in the East China Sea and the South China Sea is generally stable, and China urges the G7 to stop using maritime issues to fuel disputes, escalate tensions, and undermine regional peace and stability.

China has always acted with transparency regarding the Ukraine crisis and has never provided lethal weapons to either party to the conflict, while strictly controlling the export of dual-use items, Lin explained. He added that China never accepts the G7's evasion of responsibility and baseless accusations.

China is firmly committed to peaceful development and a national defense policy that is defensive in nature. China always maintains its nuclear force at the minimum level required by national security, Lin mentioned.

Regarding peace and security, China is the major country with the best track record. This is a typical ploy to confuse right from wrong, Lin said.

China's efforts to standardize and perfect its export control system comply with common international practices, aiming to better safeguard world peace and regional stability measures and to fulfill its international obligations, Lin pointed out. He added that the facts have shown that the so-called 'China's overcapacity' and 'non-market practices' are false and baseless.

The G7 must stop politicizing and using trade topics as a weapon, and refrain from disrupting the international economic order and global industrial and supply chains, he said. The G7 turns a blind eye to the special and primary responsibility of the United States in nuclear disarmament and the nuclear proliferation risks arising from AUKUS, while focusing its attention on China.
