China Rejects US Report on COVID-19 Lab Leak

China has dismissed a US report suggesting that the COVID-19 virus may have leaked from a lab. US intelligence indicates a belief that the virus is linked to research activities rather than transmission from specific animals.

China rejected the American report, which asserted that the 'coronavirus' virus escaped from a laboratory. The US intelligence services reported that, in their opinion, 'the source is associated with investigations' and the virus was not transmitted through specific animals.

Thus, Beijing rejected the accusations made against the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Currently, China insists that the virus was transmitted from the market of live animals in Wuhan. China's position is supported, based on the facts and data collected in the early stages of the epidemic.

"China categorically opposes the use of politically motivated theories on the issue of the origin of the virus," stated a representative of the Chinese MID.
