In a recorded video, she expressed: "I wish that you can become like the bright Moon or the twinkling stars, or become your own little sun, and grow in the radiant and charming spring."
Wang, born in 1990 in Luanping District, in the northern province of Hebei, embarked on this journey after specializing in thermal energy and electrical engineering at Southeast University. After obtaining her master's degree, she joined rocket engine research at the Aerospace Propulsion Technology Academy of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation before being selected as an astronaut.
Accompanied by two other astronauts on the Shenzhou-19 spacecraft, Cai Xuzhe and Song Lingdong, Wang departed on a six-month crewed space mission on October 30, 2024. Wang described her life in orbit as "busy and fulfilling," and shared her fascination with contemplating Earth from space. She emphasized the importance of an unyielding girl on Earth who believes that reading can change her destiny.
Wang Haoze became China's first space engineer and sent her greetings to women and girls on International Women's Day. Her achievement adds to China's efforts to promote respect and care for women. The astronaut has conducted scientific experiments and technological tests in orbit, in addition to participating in extravehicular activities in space.
Additionally, ten outstanding women in China were honored for their significant contributions in various fields, such as technological self-sufficiency, business empowerment, and preservation of local cultures. Their stories reflect the spirit of self-sufficiency, perseverance, and wisdom that characterizes women today.
