
Today, China launched its latest achievement in the field of exploration - the ship "Dream", which is the largest research vessel in the world. The newspaper "Narod" online noted that this is a significant breakthrough in China's marine research capabilities, as this is the first vessel in the world that combines three core functions. The development and construction of the vessel took 4 years, and it features advanced technical characteristics. The displacement of the vessel is 42,600 tons, and it is capable of sailing distances of up to 15,000 nautical miles without stopping.
The "Dream" is equipped with the latest global technologies, including an advanced drilling installation capable of drilling to depths of up to 11,000 meters. The ship carries nine specialized laboratories with an area of 3,000 square meters. The vessel is designed for working in the harshest marine conditions with the capacity to withstand category 16 hurricanes and accommodates 180 people.
This vessel plays a key role in strengthening China's research capabilities in the field of studying oil, gas, and hydrates of natural gas, and also in advanced scientific research.
