China Promotes Sustainable Development at APEC Summit

The President of China, Xi Jinping, expressed his desire for all countries to join the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to achieve balanced global development. In a message read by his Minister of Commerce, Wang Wentao, during the APEC Business Leaders' Forum in Lima, Xi Jinping emphasized China's commitment to promoting economic growth and regional stability.

Xi Jinping highlighted the importance of boosting economic promotion and mutual benefits, stating that China aspires to forge a green and digital Asia-Pacific. The Chinese leader noted the progress made by his country in tax reforms, stimulating consumption, and reducing land degradation, as well as decreasing energy intensity.

Additionally, China has lifted restrictive measures for foreign funds in the manufacturing industry and expanded its visa-free transit policy, which has generated greater interest in traveling to the Asian country. Xi Jinping arrived in Lima to participate in the APEC leaders' meeting and to make a state visit to Peru, where he inaugurated the Chancay mega-port with President Dina Boluarte.

In his message, Xi Jinping underscored the importance of innovation as a driver of economic growth and the use of artificial intelligence to invigorate the global economy. He also emphasized the need to facilitate the flow of knowledge and maintain the fluidity of international trade chains, always with the goal of ensuring economic development benefits the entire population and allows for the sharing of progress achievements.
