China's renewable electricity trading hit 296.7 billion kWh in the first 11 months of 2025, up 41.3% year-on-year. November alone saw a 42.8% increase.


China's Green Electricity Trading Volume Surges

Beijing, December 26. The volume of green electricity trading in China showed sustained growth during the first eleven months of 2025, with a year-on-year increase of 41.3%, reported the National Energy Administration (NEA). According to official data, the exchange of electricity generated from renewable sources reached 296.7 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) between January and November. In November alone, the traded volume was 33.6 billion kWh, representing a year-on-year increase of 42.8%. During the same period, the total volume of electricity trading in China exceeded 6 trillion kWh.
