China to Strengthen Leadership in Technology and Green Development

A Russian expert highlights China's significant achievements under the 14th Five-Year Plan and forecasts further growth in technology, ecology, and international cooperation under the 15th plan.

China to Strengthen Leadership in Technology and Green Development

The implementation of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) has led to a qualitative transformation of the Chinese economy and significant progress in improving the standard and quality of life, as well as in the development of education, healthcare, and social welfare systems. This was stated by Russian expert Tlesh Mamakhatov from the Institute of Contemporary China and Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences. According to him, China is preparing to further strengthen its position as one of the world leaders in technology and green development during its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030). This will enhance China's position in the tech race, including high-tech industries and artificial intelligence, as well as in the ecological sphere. Regarding China's commitment to openness, the expert expects the country to continue supporting the multilateral trading system, expanding opportunities for cooperation and investment, and deepening ties with the Global South. Mamakhatov also noted significant changes in China's energy consumption structure: the use of renewable energy sources and natural gas has increased significantly, while emissions have decreased. He predicts that China will continue these trends under its 15th Five-Year Plan, having committed to accelerating the green transition in all areas.
