Beijing, December 5 (Xinhua) -- China has experienced remarkable growth in its telecommunications infrastructure this year, driving the massive adoption of 5G technology. According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by the end of October, the country had approximately 4.76 million operational 5G base stations. As reported by the Argentine News Agency, this figure represents a net increase of 507,000 new base stations since the end of 2024, solidifying the 5G network as 37% of the nation's total mobile base stations. This marks a net increase of 170 million users so far this year. Penetration: The 5G user base now represents 64.7% of all mobile phone users in China. Revenue: In the first ten months of the year, the country's telecommunications revenue exceeded 1.46 trillion yuan (about 207 billion US dollars), with a year-on-year increase of 0.9%.
