China launches new high-speed cargo railway

A new high-speed cargo railway line has been launched in China, connecting Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, with Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province. Trains on this line reach speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour, enabling direct deliveries between the metropolis in central China and the transportation hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. According to Xinhua News Agency, the new Wuhan-Guangzhou line will primarily serve the transport of perishable goods, such as fresh food, biomedicine, and electronic products. The trains are equipped with specialized packaging and temperature monitoring systems to ensure goods arrive in optimal condition. Previously, several high-speed cargo railway lines have been inaugurated, including express services from Kunming to Chengdu, Zhengzhou to Chongqing, and Nanchang to Shenzhen. The launch of this new line is expected to facilitate the coordinated development of Central China and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
