Chinese company Xiaomi has announced the launch of a new smart door lock that can be opened in various ways, including palm vein scanning, fingerprint recognition, or 3D facial scanning using artificial intelligence.
The company stated that other opening methods for the "Smart Door Lock M40 Pro" include NFC technology, Bluetooth, physical keys, and passcodes, with a built-in keypad available.
It was added that the lock uses a Class C mortise lock with a direct entry system and a robust structure to enhance physical security.
The new smart door lock also functions as a "smart eye," as its built-in camera provides a 175-degree viewing angle, displaying images on a built-in 5-inch screen.
The lock is powered by a rechargeable 8000 mAh battery that lasts up to 4.5 months, along with four AA backup batteries that can last up to six months.
