Tencent Music Revenue Surges 8.2%

In the three months ending in December, Tencent Music's revenue increased by 8.2% to 7.46 billion yuan, surpassing analyst expectations. Strong demand for its streaming services contributed to this growth.

In the three months ending in December, the company's revenue rose by 8.2% compared to the previous year, reaching 7.46 billion yuan (1.03 billion dollars), which exceeded analysts' average estimates of 7.30 billion yuan, according to data collected by the London Stock Exchange (LSE).

Revenue from Tencent Music Entertainment exceeded the analysts' forecast already in the second quarter in a row, on Tuesday, predominantly driven by growth, which helped the company recover after a year of slowdown thanks to strong demand for its streaming service.

Shares of the company, which is based in the U.S., rose 3% in pre-market trading.
