China Implements New Tariffs on US Agricultural Products

Starting June 1, China will introduce additional customs duties on a range of American agricultural products.

These measures are seen as a corresponding step to the earlier increase in tariffs imposed by the U.S. on Chinese goods.

A representative of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce noted that the duties will be applied to various products, including fruits and nuts, as well as certain types of meat.

"China is compelled to take this countermeasure in connection with the U.S. decision to further increase tariffs on Chinese goods," said the representative of the ministry.
