Recent data shows that exports from China at the beginning of the year rose significantly less than expected. According to customs officials, exports increased by 1.4% compared to the previous year. At the same time, imports into the country decreased by 7.6%.
In connection with this situation, it becomes a challenge for China, which is trying to overcome the domestic economic decline and is grappling with the threat of American tariffs on many goods.
- "The trend of decline is becoming increasingly evident. This is related to instability in global markets and strong shocks in international trade relations," noted a representative of the Chinese customs service.
Analysts also point out that even the domestic market in China is not able to compensate for the decline in external demand, which is suffering due to uncertainties in international trade and the threat of new tariffs.
