China Opposes US Tariffs on Exports

China expressed strong opposition to US tariffs imposed on its exports and hopes for a trade agreement to prevent a trade war with the United States. The US Postal Service also reversed its decision on suspending parcel deliveries from China and Hong Kong.

Yesterday, China categorically expressed its disagreement with the customs duties imposed by America on its export goods and expressed hope for reaching an agreement to avoid a trade war with the United States. At the same time, the U.S. Postal Service withdrew its decision on the suspension of mail deliveries from China and Hong Kong, which had been made just a few hours earlier. U.S. President Donald Trump signed an order to review the participation and financing of his country’s organization in the United Nations. "We express our deep discontent and categorical disagreement with the decisions of the United States to increase customs duties on goods from China," stated the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Li Jianz. "Right now, we need to not exacerbate the situation, but seek ways to alleviate the tensions through diplomatic means."
