In the past, tickets for movies in small towns were usually expensive; movie theaters announced a complete distribution of tickets. The new part of the fantasy film 'Nitza' topped the list of the highest-grossing films, earning over 2.3 billion yuan in just four days. The film tells the story of a war from Chinese legends, which protects the innocent.

Movie theaters in China set record box office collections during the Chinese New Year, as interest in watching new parts of successful Chinese films increased, while spending in other sectors decreased due to the relatively slow economic growth.

Data from Beacon, a company specializing in tracking box office collections, showed that the box office generated more than 5.74 billion yuan ($791.65 million) in the first four days of the holiday, which lasts a week and started on January 29, surpassing the previous record of 5.73 billion yuan in 2021.

Local authorities in Beijing, Tianjin, Hubei, Guangdong, and other provinces issued coupons for cinema visits as part of the campaign aimed at maintaining economic stability to achieve a 5% growth rate in the upcoming year.
