The Ministry of National Defense of China announced today that it has deployed submarine equipment at both the ocean surface and depths of the sea, including "beacons" underwater that can direct the movement of foreign submarines. The ministry noted that equipment was discovered on the ocean floor that transmitted information capable of "preparing the battlefield in advance," according to a report published on its official page in the WeChat app, the most popular social network in China.

"The national defense forces have halted various technical equipment used for submarine surveillance against maritime information and data that is concealed in the wide waters of the ocean," - quoted in the ministry's statement.

"Some (equipment) act as 'silent agents', drifting and floating with the waves, monitoring the situation in our territorial waters in real time. Others operate like 'beacons' underwater, indicating the direction for the intrusion of foreign submarines into our waters."

Analysts note that the race for underwater armed submarines is escalating among China, the USA, and their allies, where Beijing is following the path of receiving a new generation of submarines with nuclear propulsion and nuclear weaponry by the end of this decade.
