China Expresses Concerns Over US Tariffs | Ours Abroad News

China is 'very dissatisfied' with the new US administration's tariffs on its products. The Chinese Commerce Minister emphasizes the importance of dialogue and cooperation.

Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wengtao expressed China's dissatisfaction with the additional tariffs imposed on its products by the U.S. administration. In a letter to the new U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, Wang made it clear that he hopes to work through dialogue and consultations to improve bilateral economic and trade relations.

In the letter, Wang congratulated Lutnick on his appointment and emphasized the importance of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence to manage differences and promote cooperation between the two countries. China considers dialogue essential to resolving trade conflicts and is committed to working with the U.S. on fentanyl control, with significant results to date.

Howard Lutnick, a financial executive and supporter of the tariffs established by U.S. President Donald Trump, was confirmed as Secretary of Commerce by the U.S. Senate. The imposition of additional tariffs on Chinese products by the new U.S. administration has generated discomfort in Beijing.

Since Trump took office, various tariffs have been imposed, such as the 10% increase on Chinese products and the 25% tariff on aluminum and steel imports. Although China is not one of the main exporters to the U.S., these measures indirectly affect them.

China's stance on U.S. tariffs demonstrates its dissatisfaction and interest in resolving differences through dialogue and cooperation. Wang's letter to Lutnick highlights the importance of trade and economic relations in the context of bilateral relations between the two countries.
