Eight people died after a vehicle fell into a pond in Pengze district in China's eastern Jiangxi province, local authorities reported on Tuesday. According to police, the accident occurred around 16:00 local time on a rural road in a village in the area. The driver, a 49-year-old woman, lost control of the car, which ended up falling into the pond located next to the road. The eight people who were in the vehicle, including the driver, died as a result of the crash. Following the incident, police officers, firefighters, and medical personnel rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations. Authorities indicated that an investigation has been launched to determine the causes of the accident.
