The Burqin District Emergency Management Office confirmed the incident to the Argentine News Agency. The avalanche happened this Thursday at 13:28 in an off-piste area of the Jikepulin international ski resort, a zone not open to skiers. Rescue teams managed to locate and remove the victim trapped under the snow, but their death was subsequently confirmed. Warnings and Controls Following the incident, local authorities conducted safety inspections and risk assessments at the resort, urging tourists and athletes not to enter closed or unauthorized areas. The district stated that preventive controls will continue to ensure safety against possible new avalanches.
