Chinese man discovers wife spent all his savings on a live streamer

A Chinese man was shocked to discover that all his life savings, which he had been sending to his wife for years of work, had been spent on one of the live streamers. According to the South China Morning Post, the man, surnamed Liu, lived a frugal life and sent all his money to his wife, who squandered it in the form of tips worth 670,000 yuan ($94,000) to one live streamer. The report states that Liu has been married for eight years and works in Zhengzhou, which is 25 km from Xinyang city, where his wife resides. After deducting basic living expenses and house rent of only 300 yuan ($42) per month, the man sent almost all of his income to his wife, hoping to give her 'a sense of security'. Since their marriage, his wife has not worked and has been taking care of their child at home. Liu stated in the report: 'I saved money on food and expenses, giving her all my money.' The live-streaming platform stated that it is investigating the case. 'I think she couldn't bear the loneliness,' Liu told his wife. 'In Zhengzhou, I live in a simple apartment that costs no more than 300 yuan, which doesn't even protect me from the rain and wind. Also, she borrowed 80,000 yuan ($11,200) from a loan company.' She also added that she spent up to 1.16 million yuan, and except for the 670,000 yuan given to a male live streamer, the woman could not explain where the rest of the money went. Nevertheless, she gave money to another man. Liu said that over the past few years, his wife had deposited a total of 1.16 million yuan ($163,000) into her bank account. He also added that he recently told his wife he wanted to check her bank account, but she refused, which aroused his curiosity. Later, the woman admitted that there was no money left in her account.
