In Yanji, Jilin Province, northeastern China, a clever and crafty girl has been trying to avoid studying by making a doll out of her clothes so that it would take her place at the writing desk while she herself is engaging in play. Her cunning caught the attention of Chinese internet users, who were inspired by her wits and creativity.
In a video, released on February 8 on one of the major Chinese social media platforms, she is seen sitting in a chair in a yellow halter top and rectangular cap in the background, 'studying', as if she were a real person, while she is playing on a piano. When her parents revealed this, the girl promptly declared: 'I also feel like I'm studying here,' causing laughter among family members.
Her mother later shared that her daughter is very active and sociable, so when she noticed unusual silence after studying, she sensed that something wasn't quite right. Praising her intelligence and creativity, many users of the Chinese internet expressed their impressions, one noting: 'This technique seems to be done in two places simultaneously.' Another suggested: 'She should move to the army for training in kindergarten.'
In China, intense pressure and competition upon entering university forces teachers and schools to assign larger volumes of homework. Sometimes, restless children complain to their parents in order to avoid studying. Eventually, the mother asked her to focus on her studies and complete school assignments, after which she placed the doll in its place. 'After she studied for some time without any noise, I felt that something wasn't quite right.'
