China launches new high-speed line | Ours Abroad News

China's government has inaugurated a new high‑speed railway line connecting the historic city of Yan'an with Shaanxi's capital, Xi'an. Operated by the Fuxing bullet trains, the route can reach speeds of up to 350 kilometres per hour, cutting the travel time from several hours to just 60 minutes. This section is part of the country’s massive expansion of its high‑speed rail network, which already surpasses 50,000 kilometres in operation. During the 2021‑2025 Five‑Year Plan, an additional 12,000 kilometres were built, covering 97 % of Chinese cities with populations over half a million. The new line not only improves citizens’ quality of life but also cements China’s status as a global benchmark in railway infrastructure.
