Strengthening of China-Russia Relations

Bilateral relations between China and Russia have been strengthened, which was reflected in Russian President Vladimir Putin's eagerness to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit of heads of state and government in the Chinese coastal city of Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, 2025. Putin walked alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping during the ceremony commemorating the end of World War II on September 3. Prior to this, the Chinese president visited Moscow (from May 7 to 10, 2025) to attend the Russian Victory Day celebrations. At the Russian military parade, soldiers and officers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army marched in formation with military units from Russia and other countries.
