The corrupt HR director managed to return 1.1 million yuan (150 thousand dollars), and his family contributed an amount of 1.2 million yuan (165 thousand dollars), which, without a doubt, is not small, but still far from the total amounts that he embezzled over the eight years. Subsequent investigations revealed a large-scale fraudulent scheme masterminded solely by the personnel director.
The prosecutor in the Minhang District of Shanghai province deprived the personnel director of ten years and two months of freedom and also imposed administrative sanctions in the form of a year in prison and a fine for fraud. The court found the personnel director guilty of a large-scale embezzlement scheme worth millions of dollars, carried out through the "hiring" of dozens of fictitious employees and listing their salaries.
