Sister Captures Her Brother's Killer After Decades

A woman from China named Li Haiyu, the daughter-in-law of the target, managed to achieve her goals and went into hiding after nearly three decades of persistence and searches. The story of Li Haiyu began in December 1992, when the father of the woman and another man began to go missing due to labor migration, which led to the kidnapping of 9-year-old boy Huan Bin Li when he left school.

After several fruitless search operations, including even traveling around the provinces of Yunnan, Sichuan, Zhejiang, and Guangdong in search of the boy, only in February the following year did Huan Bin Li get found on the outskirts of a nearby village, but there were no signs of abduction or a hint.

In his last letter, father Huan Bin Li revealed the name of his son's murderer - I Mokinga, as well as his native area and physical description. Following the hint, Li Haiyu was sent to the Ningbo province of Zhejiang, where she met a person whose description corresponded with that of the murderer. It turned out his name was I Mohoa.

The woman began to maintain contact with him under the pretext of searching for work, and for almost three years managed to establish his identity and even attempted to gain his trust. Ultimately, the suspect was arrested in 2020, but in a Chinese court, there was not enough evidence to convict him.

At the end of November 2022, the prosecutor reviewed the previous decision, and in September of that year, the murderer Li Huan Bin once again appeared before the judge, admitting that he kidnapped the boy with a apple on the day of June 1992. Haiyu, who spent a significant part of her life searching for him throughout China, called his behavior in court unacceptable.

Li Haiyu is expected to return the remains of her younger brother to her native village so that he can finally be honored.
