The arising scandal surrounding the dress by Karlyn Levit, decorated with a red and black circle, is accompanied by a publicity campaign in the TikTok application about high fashion and global brands that choose China as a base for the production of expensive bags and other items.
Chen Chichen, who holds the position of the general consul of China in Indonesia, completed his post on the Swiss city of Mabu, wishing the residents success in creating a larger red circle. He attached to the publication images of the dress and screenshots from the Chinese social network Weibo, where users confirmed that the dress was made at a local enterprise.
Chichen noted that during the trade war, he first collided with the purchase of Chinese goods and expressed unrestrained criticism of China. He also published a video on the X platform, in which he gathered all the images in which Karlyn Levit had been dressed in Chinese outfits.
The diplomat supported Mabu, a Chinese community that has recently drawn the world's attention for its production of high-quality circles and an annual production volume of 200,000 tons. He drew attention to the fact that China is the largest producer of circles, accounting for more than 70% of global production.
The story with the dress by Karlyn Levit caused a huge resonance in social networks after it was revealed that it had been made in China. The events occurred during the ongoing trade war between the USA and China, which began with the introduction of tariffs by President Donald Trump.
Particular attention was drawn to the photograph of 27-year-old Levit in a red dress with black embroidery, which caught the attention of Chan Chichen when he published the image on the X platform.
