A young woman in northwest China forgot to turn off the water heater tap after showering, causing a water leak that lasted for hours and turned her residential neighborhood into an outdoor skating rink. The woman, identified as Wang, posted a video on social media on January 16, apologizing to residents of her neighborhood in Lanzhou city, Gansu province, according to Xianfeng News. In the video, she said: 'I showered last night, then I forgot to turn off the solar water heater tap at my home. I'm sorry, I made this mistake.' The water heater tank is located on the roof of the building. The water continued to flow from the tank for nine hours. Wang said: 'We used up all the salt, so if you couldn't buy salt this morning, I apologize to you.' She added: 'My father scolded me severely because he was ashamed of my behavior.' Some property management workers helped to remove the ice from the road. After Wang forgot to close the tap, water continued to flow into the tank before leaking out. Another video posted by Wang showed water flowing from the tank, freezing on the wall, and on the building's facade. The temperature in Lanzhou dropped to minus eight degrees Celsius at night in mid-January, and Wang's father, who is used to waking up early every morning for exercise, discovered the frozen road first. Wang told the media: 'Around six in the morning, my father found the road covered in ice, and water was still flowing on it. The skating rink you saw in our neighborhood this morning was made by my hands.' No one was injured in the incident.
