
The Combined Arab Emirates team has been sent to China to participate in the 2025 Asian Championship. The team includes athletes from three clubs in Abu Dhabi: Mu'ad Al-Najjar competes in the weight category over 109 kg, Azza-ed-Din Al-Ghafira - 109 kg, and Zahra Al-Hashimi - 49 kg. The team also includes players from the club: Issa Al-Balushi in the 81 kg category and Mira Al-Madani in the 59 kg category.
"We are heading to China with ambitious plans and are ready to fight for victory at the Asian Championship. We have experienced athletes in the team, and we are confident in their performance," noted Mohammad Hamis Al-Nakbi, the executive director of the Federation of Wrestling of the United Arab Emirates.
The team reached China under the leadership of Mohammad Hamis Al-Nakbi, also comprising of the trainer Khalifa Rashid Al-Zuabi from the Abu Dhabi club. A total of 201 athletes (89 women and 112 men) from 28 Asian countries will participate in the competitions, representing various weight categories. The Asian Championship 2025 will be held in the Chinese city of Zhanjiang from May 9 to 15.
