It is reported that Chinese authorities evacuated more than 50,000 workers engaged on all fishing vessels in the province of Hainan, located on the southern island of the country.

This large-scale operation was launched due to the approaching strong typhoon, which may pose hazardous conditions for fishermen and equipment.

According to official data, the warning about the approaching typhoon forced the authorities to evacuate fishermen to safer locations. Currently, most of the evacuated individuals are temporarily housed in fortified shelters to protect them from the typhoon.

"We bear responsibility for the safety of their lives," noted a representative of the local natural resources management.
